Eyeliner tattoo is the most precise work in the cosmetic tattoo discipline. The skin is thin, the eye moves, and a line only a millimetre wide changes the whole face. This course is about lash-line enhancement and liner styles, done with steady hands, careful consultation and a calm, safe way of working around the eye.
Reference photograph: the lash line, lid and brow. Every line placed here has to suit how the eye opens and closes.
Before and during supervised practice, the course works through these topics. It is a list of what is taught, not a promise about any client or result.
☐ Health and medical history questions to ask at consultation
☐ Contact lenses, lash extensions and recent eye procedures to discuss first
☐ Recognising when a client is not suited to eye work and should be referred
☐ Hygiene set-up and single-use items at the workstation
☐ Client positioning and gentle stretching of the lid
☐ Where pigment sits in relation to the lash line
☐ Watching for discomfort, tearing and eye movement while working
☐ Explaining aftercare for the eye area clearly
01
Eyeliner tattoo places pigment along or between the lashes to make them look fuller, or builds a defined liner that holds its shape without daily make-up. Good results come from restraint: understanding the eyelid, reading the client’s eye shape and choosing a line that suits how the eye opens, closes and ages.
The course treats eye work as its own specialism. It builds on the foundations taught in the Cosmetic Tattoo Course, such as skin structure, hygiene and pigment behaviour, and applies them to the most delicate area of the face.
Beauty professionals who already work with brows or lips and want to add eye work.
Learners who enjoy detailed, controlled handwork and want a clear grounding in eye-area safety.
Anyone comparing specialisms before choosing a first course.

Each technique is taught as a decision as well as a skill: when it suits a client, and when a softer option is the better choice.
Fine pigment placed between the lashes so the lash line looks denser, with no visible line when the eye is open.
Upper and lower liner, from a soft smudged edge to a crisper defined line, with the thickness and tail matched to the eye shape.
Reading lid shape, hooding and symmetry, and marking out a line before any pigment is placed.
Positioning, stretching the lid gently, hygiene, and knowing when a client is not suited to treatment.
Discussing expectations, health questions and aftercare so the client understands the process before the appointment.

The course moves from theory to practice: eye anatomy and safety first, then consultation and mapping, then supervised technique practice, finishing with aftercare and how to review healed work.
Session length, the timetable and the balance of theory and hands-on practice are set out for you when you enquire, so you can plan around your current work before enrolling.
Course inclusions, such as learning materials and practice supplies, are confirmed in the enrolment information for your intake.
04
By the end of the course, students understand how to judge whether eyeliner tattoo is right for a client, how to design a line that flatters the eye, and how to place pigment with a light, controlled hand. Just as important, they learn to explain aftercare clearly and to recognise when to refer a client elsewhere.

Eye work rewards a solid foundation. If you are new to the discipline, read the Cosmetic Tattoo Course page and mention your background when you enquire.
Brows are about shape and texture across a wider area; eyeliner is about a very fine line on thin, moving skin. Compare it with the Eyebrow Tattoo Course.
