01

Overview and techniques covered

Microblading uses a hand tool fitted with a fine blade to place pigment in short, crisp strokes that follow the way natural brow hair grows. It looks simple from across a room and is exacting up close. This course is built around four skills that decide whether a finished brow reads as hair or as a drawn line.

Stroke patterns

How hairs rise at the brow head, fan through the body and taper at the tail, and how to design a pattern that suits each face rather than copying one template.

Blade handling

Grip, angle, pressure and stretch, and why consistent depth matters more than speed.

Working on practice skin

Repeated drills on practice skin build a steady hand before any work near a real face.

Skin types that suit microblading

Reading skin texture and oiliness, and recognising when a shaded method such as Powder & Ombre Brows is the better recommendation.

Course structure

Part 1

Foundations

Brow anatomy, hygiene and safe work set-up, and how pigment sits in the skin.

Part 2

Mapping and design

Measuring symmetry, choosing a shape for the face and sketching the stroke pattern.

Part 3

Blade practice

Demonstration, then guided stroke drills on practice skin with trainer feedback.

Part 4

Consultation

Assessing suitability, explaining healing and giving clear aftercare advice.

Hair strokes, not shading

What sets this course apart is the finish it teaches. If a soft, filled brow is the look you want to learn, read the Powder & Ombre Brows Course. To weigh both methods for a client, see the Eyebrow Tattoo Course.

Option A — Microblading

A · Finish
Individual hair strokes, each one drawn to read as a single brow hair.

Option B — Powder & Ombre

B · Finish
Soft shading with no separate strokes, taught on its own course page.

What students learn

By the end of the course, students should be able to:

— design a brow shape and stroke pattern that suits an individual face
— work through stroke drills on practice skin with trainer feedback
— hold and guide the blade at a steady angle and depth through blade handling practice
— judge whether a client’s skin suits hair strokes or a shaded method
— explain the healing stages and give clear aftercare advice
— keep a clean, organised and hygienic workstation

A black-gloved hand holds three small cosmetic tools, including a fine applicator and spoolie brush, against a plain white background.

Microblading course questions

Do I need experience before microblading?

Brow or beauty experience helps, but it is not the only route in. If you are new, tell us when you enquire and we can talk through where to begin.

Should I learn microblading or powder brows first?

It depends on how you like to work and the clients you expect to see. The comparison above and the Microblading Training guide set out the differences.

How long does the course run and what does it cost?

Current details are provided in reply to an enquiry. More general answers are on the FAQ page, or you can contact us directly.
